FLAWED

"A Bad Day" is a guitar duo featuring Sara Ardizzoni and Egle Sommacal.

We both come from non-academic paths, very diverse musical backgrounds and share a common interest in exploring sonic territories – not necessarily associated to the electric guitar – using the tonal nuances offered by effects. We deliberately chose to avoid loops, computers and electronic samples, to prevent compositions from being constrained by harmonic or time limitations and to allow for a more organic and less artificial reproduction during live performances. In the album —as well as in live settings — there are no overdubs or production tricks, just two guitar lines intertwining to create multifaceted soundscapes and shapeshifting architectures.

Our collection of tracks is titled "Flawed". Engaging with imperfection, playing with our limitations — including the tools at our disposal — has been at the heart of our creative approach from the very beginning of our artistic journeys, serving as a constant source of inspiration.

We don’t aim to assign a definitive meaning to our tracks; they are simply sounds arranged in time over something we conventionally call silence. Nothing more, nothing less. Inevitably, these sounds also reflect our relationship with present times, an emotional response, a fleeting sensation—imperfect, "flawed."

The album is entirely self-produced: for fun, we even came up with the name of a fictional record label. At this stage, we’re not backed by any agencies, nor do we plan to release our music on major streaming platforms. This choice isn’t driven by any supposed "purity" but rather by the awareness that mainstream distribution strategies may not be effective for projects intended for a limited audience.
